Dr. Duterlien began his academic career at Springfield College where he studied Premedical sciences with a Minor in Philosophy.
Dr. Duterlien then further continued his post graduate studies at Hofstra University, which is where he learned about the field of podiatry from an academic advisor who had a lot of foot problems and spoke very highly of the field.
After completing his postgraduate studies, Dr. Duterlien worked as a medical scribe in a level 2 trauma center eventually serving as Chief medical scribe.
Dr. Duterlien attended Barry University School of Podiatric where he served a class vice president and participated in multiple student organizations and events, including Special Olympics Florida, medical mission trips to Dominican Republic, Mexico, Bahamas.
Dr. Duterlien was awarded The Clifford O’Connor DPM Memorial Compassion Physician award for his passion for community service at graduation.
Dr. Duterlien then went on to complete a three year foot and ankle reconstructive residency at The Department of Veterans affairs and Rubin institute of Advanced Orthopedics.
Dr. Duterlien’s training included all things podiatry with strong emphasis on Reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, Pediatrics, limb salvage and Wound Care.
Dr. Duterlien is a proud immigrant from the island of Haiti. In his spare time he enjoys trying new foods and restaurants, photography, lifting weights, and most recently joined a boxing gym.
